How to play Mancala
- On your turn, scoop all the stones from one of your six pits and drop them one by one, counter-clockwise, into the following pits — including your own store but skipping your opponent’s.
- If your last stone lands in your own store, you take another turn.
- If your last stone lands in one of your own empty pits, you capture it and every stone in the pit directly across, banking them all in your store.
- When either player’s pits are all empty, each side sweeps its remaining stones into its own store — the most stones wins.

Mancala — frequently asked questions
Is this Mancala the same as Kalah?
Yes — Piece Pals uses the popular Kalah rules: six pits and a store per player, four stones per pit, with the capture and extra-turn rules that make the game a fast, tactical duel.
How do you win at Mancala?
You win by ending the game with the most stones in your store. The game ends the moment one player’s six pits are empty, and each player then sweeps the stones left on their own side into their store.
What are the extra-turn and capture rules?
If your last sown stone lands in your own store you take another turn. If it lands in one of your own empty pits, you capture that stone plus every stone in the pit directly opposite and bank them all.
Can I play Mancala against the computer?
Yes. Challenge a friend online or take on a computer opponent at Easy, Medium, or Hard — free and right in your browser, no download needed.
